Bud Werner Memorial Library’s Youth Services Department provides educational and culturally enriching youth programs, reading, listening and viewing materials for loan, and an inviting, interactive space to spend quality time for  all children and families. The Youth Services Department’s focus is on early literacy, digital literacy, teacher and student instructional support, reading and writing for fun, life skill enhancement, family togetherness, and creating lifelong learners and readers.

Yampatika

Agency Description:
Main goal: To develop environmental learning opportunities for residents and guests of NW Colorado. Established in 1992 Yampatika continues to be the only non-profit organization that offers a continuum Yampatika-Photo2of educational services for ages preK through senior citizen in Routt, Moffat & Jackson Counties.

Yampatika operates an Environmental Learning Center at the City of Steamboat Springs-owned Legacy Ranch. The historical ranch is a rural backdrop for cutting edge science programming for youth (incl. at risk), adults & families with camps, school programs, self-guided tours, and snowshoe adventures.

Yampatika is part of a statewide and national movement to create systemic change in schools with our Environmental Literacy Program serving K-5th grades.

Each year we serve 15,000 with safe, enjoyable, and educational outdoor activities that instill a sense of environmental stewardship.
Our offices, Nature Center & Book Store are located within in the USFS Building in Steamboat Springs, CO.
