Agency Description:
Partners in Routt County strives to ensure that all Routt County youth will be empowered to live healthy, productive lives, to contribute to their community, and to successfully pursue their dreams. We do this by providing adult mentors to youth who are referred to the program. Our One-to-One program matches adult volunteers (Senior Partners) with a youth in the community (Junior Partner) and the partnerships spend time together each week for a minimum of one year. All volunteers are screened and trained and ongoing support is provided. We also provide monthly activities as well as an annual Life Skills Camp. Our School-Based Mentoring Program places 9 AmeriCorps School-Based Mentors in all Routt County middle schools as well as two Steamboat elementary schools. The Mentors work full-time in the schools, each providing an hour of one-to-one mentoring to 8 target students every week and also offer in-school and after-school programming to all students in the school.
