Sk8 Church is an indoor skateboard park which provides a safe, sober environment in which youths may develop life and leadership skills based on biblical principles. Sk8 Church offers opportunities to skateboard, shoot pool, play ping pong and foosball, use the computer, do homework, or just hang out. It’s a place in which kids learn to respect each other and their environment Monday and Thursday evenings we offer a “Meal and a Message” and additional time to interact with staff, volunteers, and other peers.Our programs include, but are not limited to, FREE after-school drop-in program (2-5 Monday-Friday), middle school and high school Sk8 Church evenings, mentoring, mission trips, and participation in community events. Everyone is welcome; parents must accompany those 11 years and below.

Grand Futures works to promote drug-free lifestyles for youth through a variety of broad-based programming designed to enhance protective factors Grand_Futures-Photo1and reduce risk factors associated with alcohol, tobacco and drug (ATOD) use. Programs tie in with nationally recognized prevention strategies and include: ATOD Education Programs and Resource Distribution to Youth, Parents and Youth Serving Organizations; Co-Facilitation of the Steamboat Springs Teen Council; Drug-Free Social and Recreational Activities for Youth; ATOD and Impaired Driving Prevention Media Campaigns; Responsible Alcohol Serving Classes; Technical Assistance to Alcohol Retailers; and Youth, Parent and Community Survey Administration.

Routt County Individualized Service and Support Team

Organization Name: Routt County Individualized Service and Support Team (ISST)

Agency Description: The Individualized Service and Support Team (ISST) is a family-driven, strengths-based, solution-focused problem solving process to support the youth (ages 0-21) in Routt County. It is a multi-disciplinary group of professionals that meet with youth and their families to assist them in identifying, finding, and accessing resources and services. With everyone together in one meeting, a unified plan is created and everyone is on the same page at the same time, which really simplifies things.
A brainstorming process occurs that targets the goals of the youth and family; an action plan is developed in which specific items and timeframes are agreed upon to provide services and allocate resources for the youth/family. An example of the broad range of ISST resources that have been provided in the past include things such as academic tutoring, counseling support, employment skills training, internship placement, scholarships for extra curricular activities, after school programming, mentoring partner, interpreter, art lessons, summer activities, medication, wheelchair lift, etc.

Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide

REPS is a largely volunteer 501(c)3 coalition of community members invested in stopping suicide in the Yampa Valley and supporting those who have lost a loved one to suicide through education and awareness. We believe that suicide is devastating to our community and that there are alternatives. Our programs include a 24/7 hotline, the Suicide Prevention Advocates program at Yampa Valley Medical Center, ASIST and QPR training, a Depression/Bi-Polar Support Group and a Heartbeat Survivor Support Group. We also do many trainings in our schools and offer one-on-one crisis support. Through generous grants we have money available to help pay for therapy for those who need assistance.
